Sectional Garage Doors

sectional garage doorSectional garage doors combine the ease of operation of an up-and-over garage door with the space saving qualities of a roller door, with no free space required on the driveway when operating.  Because sectional garage doors do not roll around a barrel they can be much more thickly insulated (upto 45mm) than a roller door and make a great choice for a garage that is integral to your house.

As the name suggests, a sectional garage door is made up of a series of interlocking horizontal panels.  This flexibility allows the door to curve around a guide rail when opening and closing, taking it from a vertical orientation when closed to a horizontal orientation when open.  Each panel consists of zinc-coated external steel sheets, separated by a foam insulating layer, contributing to its thermal and sound insulating properties.

Sectional garage doors can be installed as reveal fit between the brickwork or face fit behind the brickwork.  Spring assistance and bearings within the rollers allow for a smooth and quiet operation.  Face fit doors are suitable for arched or shaped openings.  Also, because of their vertical operation they require no space in front of the door to open, allowing you to park right up to the door, so are ideal for short driveways.

Colour matched side and top profiles, manufactured from hot-dipped galvanised steel coated with laquer, means that doors can be positioned slightly into the opening if required.

Sectional garage doors can incorporate a wicket door.  This is a personal entry door built in to the main door, allowing personal entry without having to open the main garage door.  If your garage door is automated, safety features prevent it from being opened if the wicket door is in the open position.

Available in a wide range of colours and styles and can be automated, allowing remote control.

Your sectional garage door can also incorporate durable double acrylic glazing, offering highly insulating properties.  Windows in garage doors let in natural light, and add to the overall aesthetics of the door.
