Side-Hinged Garage Doors

The most traditional of garage door types, side-hinged garage doors are easy to operate and simple to maintain. Opening horizontally outwards rather than vertically and requiring no space inside the garage for installation or operation, steel, composite or timber side-hinged doors are available in a wide range of styles, colours and finishes.

Side-hinged garage doors open upto 100% of the opening height, ideal for today's taller vehicles.

Side-hinged garage doors are installed in pairs - the active leaf is the side with the handle and is opened first. The other side is called the inactive leaf and is opened second (if required). The two leaves can either be a 50:50 split, or a 2/3:1/3 split. The 2/3:1/3 split produces an active leaf that is only half the width of the inactive leaf and is an ideal choice if personal access (only requiring one side to be opened) rather than vehicular access (requiring both sides to be opened) is going to be regular.

The inactive leaf is secured by two internal shootbolts (top and bottom), and the active leaf is secured with top and bottom latches.

Great job done on Garage door replacement

James fitted a new Garage door on my prefabricated Garage which has made my Garage stable and saved the expense of a new Garage, it also looks a lot better than the old one and fitted a new Panel above the door as well, the work was expertly done and James and his nephew where very helpful from when James came to assess the problem, the price was very good and I would strongly recommend AJP for their work, also the after service is very good.

Sun awning

Fast response to an electric door problem

Our double door on the garage stopped working in the up position, A call to James at AJP promised the same day visit to investigate the problem. He arrived, just ad promised, diagnosed the problem and disconnected the motor so that the door could be raised and lowered manually. It was a relief to us to be able to lower the door at night and if we went out. The part arrived a couple of days later and was fitted straight away. We now have a working door. This was a great response from a local company that can be trusted.

Very Happy Customer - Highly recommend

Installation of Garage Door

The installation of my new insulated roller garage door was completed within a few hours on the day that had previously been agreed (at quite short notice but convenient for myself). The work was carried out efficiently and all mess tidied up subsequently. As part of the cost the old door and fittings were removed. James went through the operation of the door along with the security and safety features. I must say that James did a great job of selling the door I'd just had installed. He genuinely appeared to be proud of both the work carried out and quality of the product itself. I have no hesitation in recommending AJP Home Improvement to other people.

AJP fitted a new garage door after old one was damaged, not usable or repairable. A company to trust

AJP Home Improvements Ltd replaced my loft ladder today. They arrived on time, the work was carried out professionally. It was of the highest standard and I am very pleased with the result.
