Up & Over Garage Doors
The traditional up and over garage door is opened by pulling the bottom of the door outwards, which swings out and up as the top of the door swings back into the garage. This requires some space to be available in front of the garage door and some space inside the garage to allow the door to swing inwards. They are generally spring assisted to aid opening and closing and can be automated so that they can be operated via a remote control unit.Retractable lifting gear, which incorporates a guide rail for the top of the door as it travels back into the garage, is an option on smaller doors and standard on larger doors.
Up and over garage doors feature cable operated latches that are engaged and disengaged with the locking handles that are on the outside and inside od the door.
Up and over garage doors are availble in a number of materials, including steel, timber and composite, and a range of colours and finishes.
Steel
Strong and secure, steel garage doors are available in a wide range of styles, colours and finishes such as vertical/horizontal ribs, various architectural styles and wood effect.
Timber
Timber garage doors add a real touch of class to your home. They benefit from the same opening and locking mechanisms as other types and have a strong steel chassis.
Composite
If you require minimum maintenance then composite makes a great choice. It is strong and dent resistant, with a better strength to weight ratio than steel. Composite won't warp, shrink or rust, and the door face has no joints, seams, rivets or fastenings.
